Gareth Bale To Real Madrid?

The assistant national coach of Wales, John Hartson, said that the Tottenham Hotspurs top striker, Gareth Bale, (24), who has been the number one transfer target of the Spanish giant, Real Madrid, is level headed enough to handle the pressure of playing for Real.

Hartson, who also coaches Bale at the wales national team said that, "It wouldn't be an issue for Gareth. He's very level headed, his feet are firmly on the ground.

"I get to see him close up, obviously, working with him with the welsh national team. He comes along to the squad and he works like all the other players, he gets his head down."

"If he was to go - I'm not saying that he's going to go, I'm sure he will deal with everything. He's got his agent, he's got his advisers and he's a really down-to-earth, level-headed lad and I think whatever Gareth does I'm sure he would have thought long and hard about it."

Gareth Bale, had the best season of his young career last season. He scored 26 goals in the English Premier League (EPL). And he won the double honours of EPL player of the year and also the young player of the year awards. Bale, moved from Southampton FC to Tottenham in 2007.

The Spurs has been on the defensive since the drama of his transfer began last month. Both the club chairman Daniel Levy and the manager Andre Villas-Boas are very keen to keep their goal merchant. They have been saying at every given opportunity that Bale is not for sale.

The former Spurs manager, David Pleat, said that bale is young to move to another country. "I think he's a little bit young to go abroad. I doubt he'd find it easy. Many have failed when they have moved overseas. One or two have succeeded, but not many.

He continued, "Most have had a difficult time. I think he is young to go, but he might feel that, with his partner and baby, it will be a new start for him."

Many ex-footballers have been giving their opinion in the Bale-Tottenham- Real saga and the latest to contribute was Michael Owen, former Liverpool and Real Madrid player.

"Any player going from over here to Spain, it's a lot different to what you imagine. It's a slow pace of life. I was in a hotel for six months with a young child. It's very difficult. You need to get a lot of things in order off the pitch.
I 'd be surprised if he went this year."

The three time FIFA footballer of the year, Real Madrid great and former French international, Zenedine Zidan, said that Bale should seize this opportunity and join Real.

While former Spurs and French international David Ginola, said that Bale should stay with the Spurs.

Real has not made any offer yet but it is widely believed that they are preparing to tender a bid soon that will surpass the €90m they paid Man United for Cristiano Ronaldo a couple of years ago. The media speculation is between €100m to €140m. Whatever figure it is, will be a world record one suspects.

With all these drama going on, Gareth Bale, has now informed that he wants to speak to Real. And as he has now said that he wants to talk to Real, things will start moving forward one way or the other. We shall all see what will finally happen.
