Iker Casillas May Leave Real Madrid

The long time goalkeeper of Real Madrid, Iker Casillas (32), who has been relegated to playing a second fiddle, to the current Nr 1 choice goal-tender,
Diego Lopez, has indicated in an interview with a Spanish media, that if his lack of selection in the club continues, he will be leaving in January.

The former coach of the club, Jose Mourinho, who is now managing Chelsea, prefered using Lopez and the new coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is also doing the same thing, to the frustration of Casillas. Ancelotti uses Lopez in the Spanish La Liga and Casillas in the champions league.

Vicente del Bosque, the Spanish national coach and former coach of Real Madrid, still has confidence in Casillas, so he made him the first choice goalkeeper and captain of the national team. But he needs more play time at club level, or he risk the chance of being replaced by Victor Valdez, the Barcelona goalkeeper.

Iker Casillas - 2013 Season Saves

Iker Casillas, has played all his football career with Real Madrid. A couple of clubs have been monitoring his situation, in the club and are ready to pounce at the opportunity of signing him.

Some clubs are very eager to sign the very experienced keeper, who is still in good form, especially Arsenal, who are in search of a world class goalkeeper like him.

Casillas is still weighing his options. He said, in the interview, that he will like to stay at Real, but if the situation does not change for him, he will be forced to leave the club, (probably in January when the transfer window opens again).

''Of course I want to stay here, winning more titles with Real Madrid,'' he said.

''I have been here since I was a boy, but the day will come, when maybe a decision will have to be made.''

''I have decided I want to be part of this squad for a long time, but if the situation dosn't change in 3 months and you ask the same question, perhaps I will answer, that I am planning to leave,'' he added.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, said that the club is looking for a proven quality. ''...we will also look to buy a proven quality.''

Iker Casillas, was in a top form in the summer Confederation Cup in Brazil.
He has been doing very well for Real Madrid, in the champions league matches so far and also in the Spanish  2014 World Cup qualification matches.

Tomic's Father Banned From Australia Open

John Tomic, the father and coach of the ATP tennis player, Bernard Tomic, has been banned from appearing in January, at the Australia Open in any capacity - either as a coach or spectator because of his assault conviction.

Tomic Sr was arrested in May, in Madrid, on the allegation that he head-butted his son's practice partner, Thomas Drouet. He was punished with a 12 month suspension ban by the ATP. (ATP stands for Association of Tennis Professionals. It is the organisation in charge of Men tennis activities).

The chief executive officer (CEO) of the Australia tennis, Mr Craig Tiley, told the media that Mr John Tomic, will not be allowed to enter the premises of the Australia Open in January next year.

''...the four Grand Slam tournaments have an agreement with the ATP, to follow and support that organisation's decision in situations like this,'' Mr Craig Tiley, said.

''The Grand Slams as well as the ATP work together on this. The rule is he's not accredited and does not have permission to purchase a ticket. And the systems we have in place - John or anyone else who is banned, they are not allowed on the grounds and our security personnel, will take care of that appropriately,'' he added.

Last month (September), Mr Tomic was convicted of the offence by a Spanish court and was given an eight month suspended jail sentence.

Lindsey Vonn Puts ''Sammy de Squirrel'' On Tiger Woods

The number one (Nr 1) golfer in the world, Tiger Woods, was playing in the 2013 President Cup, which he helped USA to eventually win, while his skiing champion girl friend, Lindsey Vonn, was busy having fun by putting a live squirrel on his shoulder as he was seriously watching the game.

Lindsey decided to lighten the atmosphere at the golf course, she borrow the squirrel from the golfer David Love 111, and placed it on Tiger while everyone around was laughing, Tiger was focused on the game he was watching.

He did not look at what Lindsey was putting on his shoulder, but he did try to push it off without looking at all to see what it was. It was a real funny stuff though, Tiger did not find it so funny initially. But he later laughed about the joke. The name of the squirrel was Sammy.

Richard Kingston Recalled To The Black Stars

The veteran Ghanian goalkeeper, Richard Kingston (35), has been recalled to the national team - the Black Stars, for the country's World Cup play-offs encounter against the Pharoahs of Egypt on the 15th of October, after a two year absence from the team.

Richard Kingston, who is the most capped player in the team, and very experienced goalkeeper, was for quite a long time without a club, until this season, when Doxa Katokopias of Cyprus signed him and he has just played few matches for them. Many Black Stars fans are worried, that his lack of club for a while, may have made him rusty between the sticks. And they argued, that he should not have been invited.

To those people I will advice them to wait and see who the coach will select. Obviously, coach Appiah wants to see how his current form is, and also the other two keepers, before he will decide who will be in the post on the match day. I believe he will select the best of the three,
after their performance in camp, after all he wants to win the match.

The first of the matches will be played in Kumasi Ghana, while the second leg on the 19th of November will be played in Egypt.

The Best Ever Basketball Player

One of the greatest basketball player in human history, the legendry Kareem Abdul Jabbar, has joined in the hottest debate in the basketball community, over who is or was the greatest player of all times.

Kareem's pick was a surprise to many but not everyone agrees with his pick of course. He said, that Michael Jordan and Lebron James etc, were and are awsome players, but they are not the greatest.

He said that the greatest ever was his former team-mate, at the Milwaukee Bucks, Oscar Robinson, with whom he won his first NBA title in 1971. The former superstar player said yesterday, on the Cowherd's Radio Show, that
''Lebron James is awsome, MJ that is (Michael Jordan) was awsome - but I think Oscar Robinson would have kicked them both in the behind.''

Kareem Abdul Jabbar
Many basketball fans and experts considered Kareem Abdul Jabbar born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor, himself to be the greatest player ever, but he disagree with this, saying that he think that Oscar Robinson, popularly known as ''Big O'' is the greatest player ever.

At the 1997 All - Star Game, Oscar Robinson, was on the list of the 50 greatest player of all times.

Mr Abdul - Jabbar added about Robinson, ''Absolutely, Oscar was awsome. He had brains... He had all the skills. He could rebound and box out guys 4 and 6 inches taller than him.''

''He was ruggedly built. He had fluid, quickness and just understood the game. No flair, he just got the job done every night.''

Kareem then possed a question, asking who will be able to score double digits in points, assists and rebounds.

''Who's going to average double figures in points, assists and rebounds?

It should be noted at this juncture, that only Oscar Robinson in the history of the basketball league, averaged triple double for a whole season. No player has been able to achieve that ever since.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar won 6 NBA titles in his twenty years in the NBA league. Played 19 times in the All Star Games. From I969 when he was drafted as the number one pick by Milwaukee Bucks, till he retired in 1989,
only one season that he did not play in the All Star Games.

Amongs his honours are 6 most valuable player (MVP) in regular season.
Two MVPs in the finals and many more awards. He is a keen basketball watcher for over 50 years. He played for Milwaukee Bucks from 1969 - 1975, then he joined the LA Lakers where he became a superstar player, winning 5 titles. He is an authority in the game of basketball.
